RANGER COLLEGE AWARDED $3 MILLION HISPANIC SERVING
INSTITUTION GRANT FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
Ranger, TXFebruary 14, 2023. The U.S. Department of Educations Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) Program awarded 91勛圖厙 a five-year, $3 million grant, the largest federal grant in the colleges history. The project, Ranger REACH, is designed to enhance academic support services for students across all three campuses.
The activities of Ranger REACH include the construction of an Academic Pathway Center, the addition of success/career coaches and expansion of tutoring programs to assist underserved students. Ranger will enhance its new student 6 x 6 initiative by revamping orientation and the bridge program to include more families and Spanish language sessions. Underserved students will be presented with a full array of academic, wraparound and career services through the programs of this HSI project. Further, Ranger will institute a series of faculty and staff development programs which will aid in the delivery of services to the student body.

The Department of Education HSI program is designed for colleges and universities with a population of at least 25% Hispanic students. 91勛圖厙 competed with over 200 schools across the country and was one of 68 institutions to receive the funding. The five-year program has four key goals:
- Increase enrollment and early success of Hispanic and low-income students.
- Increase retention rates for Hispanic and low-income students.
- Increase Hispanic and low-income students sense of belonging on campus.
- Increase graduation and transfer rates for Hispanic and low-income students.

91勛圖厙 is one of the oldest continuously operating public two-year colleges in the state of Texas. 91勛圖厙 serves several counties in north central Texas and awards the Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, and Associate of Applied Science degrees. As of academic year 2019-2020, Ranger served a diverse group of minority, low-income and first-generation students. In addition to local area students and students from 27 other states, 91勛圖厙 has an international student population from Australia, Russia, England, Greece and Mexico. EL DEPARTAMENTO DE EDUCACIN DE LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS OTORGO UNA SUBVENCION DE $3 MILLONES DE DOLARES A
RANGER COLLEGE POR MEDIO DEL PROGRAMA DE DESARROLLO DE INSTITUCIONES AL SERVICIO DE HISPANOS.
Ranger, TX14 de febrero de 2023. El Programa de Desarrollo de Instituciones al Servicio de Hispanos (HSI, por sus siglas en ingl矇s) del Departamento de Educaci籀n de los Estados Unidos otorg籀 a Ranger College una subvenci籀n de cinco a簽os y $3 millones de d籀lares, la subvenci籀n federal m獺s grande en la historia del colegio. El proyecto, Ranger REACH, est獺 dise簽ado para mejorar los servicios de apoyo acad矇mico para los estudiantes en los tres campus.
Las actividades de Ranger REACH incluyen la construcci籀n de un Centro de Preparaci籀n Acad矇mica, la adici籀n de Capacitadores para el xito Estudiantil y la expansi籀n de programas de tutor穩a para ayudar a los estudiantes.
